We are halfway to our goal of 300 new gift memberships before Dec. 31? Help us raise the last $6,000 so 150 more teachers can order free supplies on behalf of 4,500 more students for the next two years.
Thanks to a grant, the membership term for teachers who register before December 31, 2024 is TWO Years. Covering the cost of a Teachers’ Teammates’ $40 membership means a classroom of students and their teacher have the supplies they need for 24 months, which equates to an approximate value of $4,400!
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure all K-12 students and teachers in Delaware County have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.
We want to demonstrate our encouragement, support and gratitude for the work of our teachers.
WHY IT MATTERS
Nationally, on average, teachers spend the equivalent of one paycheck to make up the difference between what districts and families can afford and what their students need. In households where resources are constrained, school supplies can be luxury items.
In Delaware County, 33 percent of 70,000 children receive free or reduced-price lunches.
Tapping the unused supplies in our community to restock classrooms can impact the educational outcomes of our children.
What We Do
Teachers’ Teammates collects suitable school supplies to distribute to the students and teachers in under-resourced schools in Delaware County, PA.
We provide an easy avenue for businesses and the community to donate new and like-new goods that can be re-purposed by teachers and students. Donations reduce waste and demonstrate good stewardship of resources and investment in children.
Teachers’ Teammates brings together many parts of the community (businesses, community organizations, communities of faith, public servants, people with a range of abilities, young and old) to meet a need.
Teachers’ Teammates is member-based and located in Delaware County to make it as easy as possible for donations to be dropped off, volunteers to contribute time and for teachers’ orders to be delivered to their schools.
