Teachers' TeammatesSupplying Teachers and Students With the Tools They Need
Our mission is to ensure all K-12 teachers and students in Delaware County have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.
We want to demonstrate our encouragement, support and gratitude for the work of our teachers.
What We Do
Teachers’ Teammates brings together resources to offer all teachers in Delaware County the opportunity to receive free or low-cost supplies to use in their classrooms. We provide an easy avenue for businesses and the community to donate goods that can be re-purposed by teachers and students. Donations reduce waste and demonstrate good stewardship of resources and investment in children. Teachers’ Teammates brings together many parts of the community (business, community organizations, houses of worship, public servants, young and old) to meet a need.
Teachers’ Teammates will be member based and centrally located in Delaware County to make it as easy as possible for donations to be dropped off and teachers to safely pick up their order curbside.
WHY IT MATTERS
Nationally, on average, teachers spend $500/year out of pocket to supplement the supplies financed by their district.
In households where resources are constrained, school supplies can be luxury items that families cannot afford.
In Delaware County, 33 percent or 23,000 of 70,000 children receive free or reduced-priced lunches.
Tapping the unused supplies in our community to restock classrooms can impact the educational outcomes for our children.
