After graduating from St. Joseph’s University with a master’s in business administration, I established a strong foundation in marketing, product development, media planning, and public relations during an early career working in the telecommunications, energy, and venture capital industries.
While raising a young family, I persuaded my children and a few of their friends to start a non-profit called Teens Against Poverty. For ten years (2006-2016), the organization raised over $100,000 through fundraisers and events that activated their Middle School and High School peers. The funds were used to assist local and global charities that advanced childrens’ health and education. In addition to many rewarding experiences helping people, I developed several very important skills, including the value of storytelling, how to leverage social media, and how to herd cats (aka teens).
Leveraging those learnings and seeking an entrepreneurial opportunity for growth, I launched AMS Communications (btw, it stands for Adaptive Marketing Services) in 2014 to integrate a traditional marketing discipline associated with audience development and messaging with agile and measured techniques that you find in modern digital media to optimize results for clients. Woven throughout it all is really good storytelling. If you are not sure what I mean, ask me; I love to talk about it.
